One year!! (plus more)

Well, I slacked and didn't blog last month! A lot has happened since my last post! We went down to Florida to celebrate Bella's birthday around when Sadie was 11 months.  She LOVED time with her cousin.  They played, hugged, interacted, and just loved being together.  Around 11- 11 1/2months Sadie started being ablle to go from squatting to standing on her own.  This was a big step! ha!  We had her year pictures done with Mrs. Lloyd while in Florida...this was the HAPPIEST photo session we've had to date!  I think it helped that Bella and Whitney were making her smile and laugh the entire time!  We've noticed this spring that Miss Sadie has some allergies, so I always make sure to bathe her after we've had a long time outdoors!

We celebrated her birthday a week early so that we could have the most amount of family in town!  We loved celebrating with those friends that are as close as family as well!  It was such a celebration of this sweet life!!  We Enjoyed going to the hospital to say THANK YOU to the nurse that was with us the entire day of delivery last year!  What a scary day!  She was so excited to see Sadie and took her around to see all the nurses.

The day of her birthday, Grandma Cline took us to lunch, and when she woke up from her nap, John was home early from work!  We took Sadie for her very first pizza, and then to play at a new playground near our house.  They have wooden rocking horses that they turned into baby swings! She LOVED it!  The day after her birthday, we took her to the children's museum in town. She LOVED pushing around the shopping carts at the "market", splashing in the splash table, crawling and climbing on all that mats, and exploring everthting she could!

A little before she turned a year, she began standing for long periods of time.  She can stand and drink her sippy cup for long periods of time.  She hasn't taken that first step, but it's only a matter of time!!  She doesn't like when we hold her hands to walk, she pulls them away and would rather stand there on her own! So, I guess little missy will decide when she wants to walk!

She has a hilarious personality.  She babbles all day long.  She understands phrases like "Go get the ball, go find the doggies, go get your water," etc.  She does exactly what I'm asking her! haha  She recently added "Baba" to her vocabulary meaning WATER! No, she doesn't drink out of a bottle, but I guess that's her water!  At about 11 1/2 months I gave her a sippy of whole milk. She GOBBLED IT DOWN and wanted more.  So, between 11 1/2 months and now about 12 months and a week, we are down to two nursing sessions per day and 2 sippy cups of water.  The Dr told us today to start giving her about 16 oz of milk per day.

She continues to be a GREAT eater. We haven't found anything she doesn't like...we say that every month!  I gave her scrambled eggs this past week for breakfast and she loved it!  So now her breakfast is a little oatmeal, an egg, and some type of fruit-this week strawberries.  For lunch, I give her some type of meat (usually shredded chicken from a whole chicken I bake her, or turkey), cheese or yogurt, fruit, and usually some bread/toast.  For dinner, she has been eating what we eat. Last night we had fish, risotto and broccoli.  She ate it all and loved it! She probably ate more broccoli than her Daddy!  Sometimes if dinner is something that is too heavy, I'll just feed her something similar to lunch, or feed her part of our dinner.  She drinks milk at lunch and dinner.  Toward the end of her meals (at home and when we're out) she starts CLEARING HER TRAY with her hands...I mean throwing stuff EVERYWHERE. So we are working on that, and being firm with her.  Dinner is OVER at that point. HA! =)

Her little strong will has started in the past few weeks.  She knows that outlets are a no no (even when covered, dog bowls, the TV, etc.  Yesterday was quite the day of guiding and disciplining...Haha.  She knows after I say "no touch" and redirect her that it's funny to go back and keep doing it.  So, we talked to the doc about when discipline becomes affective ....and he said NOW! ha  He said when she does something that coule be dangerous-pulling a glass bowl from cabinet, banging on the big tv, etc, to make her mad for 1-2 min (whatever that means for us-time out, little pop, or both), and to be consistent. So it begins people!! =)  We had a few times yesterday when it was hilarious to her to put her mouth on outlets and look to see if I was watching. oh dear!

Her stats from her 1 year appt (she's about 1 year and a few days)

Weight: 20 lb 15.5 oz (about 50%tile)
Length:  30.25 inches (about 80%tile)
Head 18.5 inches (about 90%tile) haha

She grew 3INCHES since February 10th! Go girl!!! I knew she was eating a lot! =0)
Schedule:
7/7:30 Wake/nurse/breakfast-oats, egss, fruit
play
9ish Nap (1 1/2 hrsish)
11:30ish Lunch
1:30ish Nap (about 2 hrs)
play
We are starting to move her dinner to 530 when John gets home, but the past several months she likes to eat at 430/5
6:30 Bath
7bed
(sleeping about 12 hr every night-or more-what an ANGEL)

We are just LOVING this stage.  She is SO interested in the world around her.  She LOVES splashing in any type of water, turning on faucets, and the newly discovered hose outside.  She absolutely LOVES pulling clothes out of laundry baskets, drawers, etc. She loves pulling anything out of anything like it's her job! ;)  I dont mind...I think she's gonna be a big helper..she thinks she's helping..sweet thing!  She ADORES her puppy dogs.  She and smokey will roll around together.  When she's sleepy she will lay on him on the floor. She loves pepper more than pepper loves her, but maybe one day Pepper will accept the love. =)  She is quite the dancer, and starts shakin that booty to any music she hears.  Mommy loves a good dance party in the kitchen while cooking dinner...somteimes thats the only way we make it til Daddy gets home!!  She loves to swing, and loves doing anything outside!!  She copies words that you say-or tries to-and is the most SOCIAL creature I've ever met. A publix trip is the greatest thing ever, because every person she sees is a new friend!  She says "eh eh eh!" (hey!) and waves to everyone!    She's not particularly fond of me dropping her in the nursery at church or the Y, but settles down after a few minutes...or so they say...as soon as they start giving her her lunch..HA!   We are so blessed to have this little one in our family and look forward to many more fun days and years ahead as she grows up!! What a little JOY she is to us every day!  Some nights we hold off bedtime because she is SUCH a sweetie and we want to hang out more. ;)

10 months....(a little late)

So, we are almost 11 months, so I figured I should blog about 10 months!!! Once she hit 10 months, a lot more started happening developmentally! She started waving, clapping, REALLY imitating whatever sounds we make. She loves to "fake cough" when she hears us cough. She loves to just be independent. I have found her MANY mornings sneaking off to the bathroom to play in the toilet...and then pitches a fit when I pull her out of the bathroom! Hilarious. We did begin to wonder this month if we were seeing a nasty toddler stage because she would throw fits over ANY type of boundary, diaper change, etc. But it really was only bad for a week or so, around the time change! I'm convinced that time change threw her off BIG TIME.

She's lengthening the time that she's able to stay awake between naps, and pretty much has completely dropped her 3rd nap (late afternoon). This usually means that we might have some fussy spells until bed time, and bed time is usually pretty early (645/7), but she is sleeping GRRRRRREAT at night. Sometimes 12.5 hrs, but at least 12ish. A month or so ago, she was still waking and crying out a couple times a night. We wouldn't go in there, but she was still doing it, and would eventually put her paci in and go back to sleep. Now, she sleeps like a rock all night. In fact, somtimes I have to wake her in the morning! She sleeps on her side, back, and belly. What a big girl!

She is extremely social, and loves being around big kids. We have a lot of play dates during the week! She LOVES kissing everyone in sight. She leans in, opens that mouth and kisses!! haha She will kiss anything from a bear in a book, a friend, a picture of family, etc. She can cruise on furniture, but has only stood independently a few times. She can walk with her push walker! She LOVES dancing to music, clapping, and "singing". Whenever she hears clapping (like at church, ball game, etc), she claps and says her version of "yaaaaay!" So sweet. She also loves to slap her hand on furniture, etc., to music.

She is eating absolutely everything, and I'm amazed at how much she can still eat! She started eating "big kid" oatmeal a couple weeks ago for breakfast. She loves it with applesauce and strawberries/blueberries. She also looooves raisins. Her new favorite treat.

My favorite time of day is when we sing Jesus Loves Me to her before bed. She immediately puts her head on my shoulder when we start singing. She knows that means bed time!! We are so enjoying this sweet time with her. This is such a fun age!! We are loving every minute!

Our current schedule:
7:30ish Wake/nurse/ breakfast (oatmeal, fruit, apple sauce)
Play
9ish Nap

10:30ish Wake/nurse (if we're going to gym, I'll feed her lunch too)
YMCA or Playtime at home
Lunch: chicken, cheese, green veggie (usually green beans or broccoli), fruit (usually apple)

Play time

12:30 or 1 Nurse then Nap

2:30ish/3 Wake (she usually sleeps 1.5-2 hr)

Play time!!

4ish Nurse
4:30/5 Dinner Usually chicken, cheese, orange veggie (sweet potatoes, carrot, mixed veggies chopped up), raisins, any fruit

Play time with Daddy!!!! =) Sometimes she'll wait by the backdoor with the dogs becaues they know Daddy is coming home. If I say, "where's daddy?" They will all go to the laundry room door and wait. So sweet. Sometimes I wait and cook dinner when he gets home if we have a fussy spell! =) But usually we eat right away, then have family play time!

6:30/6:45 Bath (about every other night unless she got nasty eating that day!!) =)

6:45-7:15 Bedtime-read a book, sing, pray, bed!! =)

I think it's so important to have that time after she goes to bed to not only straighten up (HA!), but to have time together to talk, hang out, watch "our shows" together, etc. Sometimes if she's happy, we'll keep her up until 7:30 or 8 just to have more time with her. ;) Yesterday afternoon after church, it was time for her nap. I NEVER rock her to sleep, because she just wants to be in bed. I think she just got used to that early on, and just likes to put herself to sleep. But yesterday, I was singing to her before her nap, and she snuggled up on me, and fell asleep on me. I definitely soaked up this time, and kept her asleep on me for quite a while....I just can't believe she's as big as she is, and almost a year old! I remember sitting in that recliner rocking her to sleep when she was sooo tiny, and when her feet barely hung off of me. Now, she's draped completely across my body lengthwise hanging off the chair. Amazing how quickly they grow up!!! She's such a sweetie!!!

9 months!

Sadie at 1 month....Sadie at 9 months....WOW!!

Ok, so even though I'm behind, I'm going to go ahead and post about Sadie being 9 months!!

So, around the time she was about to turn 9 months...everything started changing!! She was already crawling everywhere she wanted, but she discovered how to pull up to stand on everything-looking out the window, using the cabinets to stand, the fridge to stand (and look at her reflection and kiss it), the coffee table, play table-you name it, she uses it to stand up! She even mastered using my leg to stand up! She is a busy little lady, and loves every minute of it!

Here are her funny little Sadie traits:
-When music plays, she rocks back and forth, taps her leg with her hand, and "sings"
-She sings along with music in the car, and talks to herself.-Loves her beanie babies from Nana
-She is obsessed with crawling to the dog beds (with or without the dogs in them-and biting or licking the beds---ewwwwww)-Still figuring out the best DETOUR from this...she also loves crawling as fast as she can do the dog bowls. So far she hasn't eaten dog food...yet! She turns around to see if we see her, laughs and crawls faster...hmmm....it's starting!
-She loves ELMO in fact, she said "elma" for the first time last night when I played a video on youtube
-She can say "mama" or "dadda" on command now
-She LOVES looking at picture frams and kissing them as if she knows who is in it
-She really listens to books now, looks at all the pictures, and interacts
-She loves looking into the fridge and freezer (and dishwasher)
-She can entertain herself forever with her toy basket-just picking toys out, playing, standing using her basket, and exploring. She's very independent!
-She absolutely LIGHTS UP when John walks in the door, or when she hears his voice on the phone. It was the cutest thing ever when he came home from being gone a week...she was so happy and confused when he walked in the door..but I've never seen her so excited!
-She plays at the YMCA sometimes when I work out, and they say she does a great job.
-She LOVES the bath..sometimes tries to stand up and crawl out...working on that!
-She will eat ANYTHING you put on her tray-any fruits (not banana) or veggies she LOVES-I've been baking and shredding her chicken and she LOVES IT. She loves toast too. I'm telling you, I don't know when she would ever refuse food! I asked the doctor about it today because the child could eat as much as an adult, and he said just feed her until she stops!! Unbelievable!
-She eats dinne before us, but we ALWAYS have more finger food for her during dinner-she wants whatever we eat, which is what we are transitioning to! The child could eat an entire pear or apple if we're out to eat-but, hey, it keeps her happy! =)
-Before I note her schedule, I want to document (for down the road) that we went through a phase for a few weeks when she was 8 months that she wanted to go to bed between 6 and 630 every night. There was no keeping her awake! I think it was the sleep before ALL of her development. I've heard that happens, but as soon as she started coming out of that is when she was pulling up and standing and crawling like a maniac!
Here is our current schedule:
7-7:30 Wake/nurse
7:30ish breakfast (oatmeal, applesauce, cut up fruit-peaches, pear, or apple usually), sometimes a piece of toast
PLAY TIME!
9:00ish Nap
10:15/1020 Wake/nurse
Lunch: Applesauce and a green veggie, cheerios ;) Some type of cut up fruit
*A few days a week, I leave for the YMCA after I nurse her, and they feed her lunch there.
12ish Nap
1:30/2ish Wake/nurse
Play!! Sometimes we go on a walk or run at this time too
4ish Sometimes she wants a catnap-well most days-sometimes I feed her dinner around this time, then lay her down, other days I lay her down, then give her dinner

4:30 Dinner-nurse/solids
shredded chicken, sweet potato, cut up fruit/veggie, toast, rice cereal (that is seriously an example of what she'd eat..and more)
-I usually do yellow veggies at dinner (sweet pot, carrots, squash, etc)
*At this point, I don't even think about portions. Since I'm not really doing puree anymore, I feed her a mashed veggie in her rice cereal (like sweet potato), then she self feeds the rest, and I keep putting food on her tray until she stops! The doctor today said that's exactly what I need to do-that I can't overfeed her fruits veggies and meats!
I asked him about cheerios, etc, and he said as long as she's not eating al ot of them before a meal to ruin appetite, she's fine! Otherwise when we're out, or to keep her occupied, it's ok to throw some at her! HAHA =)

PLAY TIME! (she usually goes back in her high chair when we eat, and finishes eating some of her finger food-I have tried holding her off until we eat at 5:30, and she just can't wait!!) Now it's play time with Daddy! Oh, she loves crawling all over him! =)

6:30ish Bathtime (about every other night-sometimes every night!) She squeals and laughs as soon as that diaper comes off! What is it about babies being naked!? =)
7/7:15 Nurse, bed

She usually sleeps from about 7:15-7:15. Usually exactly 12 hrs give or take 10 or 15 min. LOVE THAT CHILD!!! =) She might wake up and make some noises or cry a couple minutes, but puts herself back to sleep. It's obvious she's just transitioning between levels of sleep, but she's a good girl about finding a comfy spot up in the corner of her crib, and sticking that booty in the air, and drifting off! =)

Doctor visit:
Today she weighed 18 lb 8 oz, 27. inches long, head was 18 inches! Girl has got a big ole head! =) She's gone from the 80th or 90th percentile down to the 38th or 39th! He said its totally ok and normal because she's on the go so much-and eating a ton! He wants her to weigh at least 20 lb by the time she's a year old!
Enjoy this little clip of her saying "mama" on command for the first time! =)
